Why should a developer work in a start-up?

Startup Oasis hires its developers because they are convinced that they are the best one. Developers will learn much more than code during their stay in the company. They will learn how to work as a family to have more knowledge and how to help others.

Start ups are entrepreneurial ventures born out of experimental ideas. This makes it a good “industry” for people to explore working in especially when the traditional working environment doesn’t work for them anymore.

Majority of start-ups are tech start-ups which means there is web and app development involved in it. So, what is one job title that will always find work and will benefit in this industry? Yes, you got that right, Developers. So why should they work in a start-up company at least once in their lives?

Developers will have independence in the way they work

This is good for developers who just cannot “fit in a box.” Who feels like there is a better, more efficient way of doing things. They have independence in exploring technologies that might work and applying their own way of solving problems.

But what if a developer gets stuck? No worries because Start-up companies are full of supportive co workers who are always willing to assist. Not only that, start-ups being a small company, developers will always have direct access to the ‘boss’ during a crisis. This make allows for issues to be solved quicker, unlike having to go through different levels of superiors to get something approved or done.

Responsibilities are varied

For people who gets bored easily, this will be an exciting challenge because you will not be stuck with one task for days on end. Boredom will have no room knowing that you can come in the office and do something one day that you have never done before.

One particular example is the varied roles given to Startup Oasis Developers. Other than their obvious role, they get to have direct contact with clients to work with them step by step along the development process. They are also in charge of taking on an issue and proposing a solution to clients. This practice is not common in big companies as they have one person in charge who is in between developers and clients.

Learn more skill set

The learning in start-up companies is never ending. Every project is a chance for learning something new. Some are even challenged to learn a new language for coding which may seem taxing in the beginning but once they take it on, they just become better and better at what they are doing. The key is to keep and open mind and having determination.

What if it becomes overwhelming? let’s not sugarcoat it, there will be times that you will have to work long hours because you are working on something totally new but no one will take it out on you if you ask to take a break. This is something that start-up companies recognize as well, is the need for an employee to recuperate, recharge or seek inspiration. Why do you think some start-up offices have lounging chairs or gaming rooms?

Having responsibilities faster

Compare to big companies, in startup only your skills matter. Your boss will never not give you responsibilities because you are young. If you are good in your fields, you will have a better position in the company and a better income. Some junior developer may have the same skills as senior in big companies. Everyone who is involved in the project can make comments and say they don’t agree with the proposition. There is no process as there is in bigger companies so the project is done quicker. Developers will work with colleagues who have more skills and they will share their knowledges.

Build start-ups together

Some people have ideas but doesn’t have the technical background to make it happen. This is when a developer comes in. In start-up companies this task may be given to one or two developers to build. Imagine the satisfaction of slowly making someone’s idea into a reality?
